CTE NEWSLETTER
April 2022
|
|
CTE is excited to announce that the Teaching and Learning Symposium (May 3-6) has returned to an in-person format. Faculty submitted more than 30 session proposals around the theme of community engaged teaching and learning, so there is bound to be something for everyone.
We’re thrilled to announce the keynote address will be delivered by Ruth Simons, Lead of the Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society responsible for the Átl’ka7tsem/Howe Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This newsletter is, therefore, focused upon the symposium to allow faculty a chance to review the Preliminary Program, learn more about our Keynote, and register to attend.

Invitation: Complete the 2022 Open Educational Resources Survey
This questionnaire is being conducted by CTE to assess how faculty at Capilano University currently think about, and use, open educational resources (OERs). Your answers will help us build a picture of open education awareness across campus. Thank you for taking a few minutes to provide your feedback!
Find an Open Textbook with the Open Textbook Adoption Finder
The number-one reason faculty cite for not adopting open textbooks is the time it takes to find the right book. Check out this new tool to help you easily find a textbook that fits your curriculum. Read more about the tool from BC Campus here.
