The Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Family Foundation awarded the campaign a pledge of $150,000. Members of the DeCesaris family are known throughout the region for a multitude of philanthropic efforts, namely in providing significant resources for cancer support and research. In recent years, they have directed a considerable percentage of their support to the military and defense community, recognizing the need to support the brave men, women and families who defend our nation. We thank the Foundation for its generous pledge.

- Kuhn Hall is now officially in the design phase! The persistence and dedication of FMA Executive Committee Board Member and Military and Family Committee Chairperson, Lisa Decker of the Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. helped us achieve this major milestone. A very industrious volunteer, Lisa has contributed numerous hours in pre-design activities necessary to launch this official design phase. The design phase, which began in September, is on track for majority completion in late November.
- Our Ready, Strong and Connected campaign was awarded a $500,000 bond bill from the State of Maryland in the 2017 General Assembly session. This major commitment will be followed by a second bond request of equal value next year, leading to prospects for a total of $1 million from the State of Maryland. This achievement reflects collaboration of many officials from state leadership and outstanding Anne Arundel County support, particularly Senator Ed DeGrange and Delegate Pam Beidle, our House and Senate bill sponsors. The Governor's Office, the Speaker of the House, and the state's Departments of Commerce and Veterans Affairs also offered pivotal guidance and support through the legislative process. We are extremely grateful to all who played a role in this key milestone for the campaign.
- Anne Arundel County, following the recommendation of the Video Lottery Facility Local Development Council, awarded a $500,000 grant to the Ready, Strong and Connected Campaign. This major commitment will be followed by a second request of equal value in January. A special thank you to County Executive Steve Schuh, the LDC Council led by Karen McJunkin and community support from Sen. DeGrange, Del. Beidle and County Councilman Pete Smith.
- From the private sector, M&T Bank joined the effort by pledging $30,000 to the campaign. In addition to the financial support, M&T Bank is working with the FMA and FMAF leadership to involve members of their staff team in our work as volunteers.
- Continuing to be great supporters, The Baltimore Orioles donated $4,462.31 to the campaign effort from its annual jersey auction for the sixth year in a row. The MLB team has contributed a grand total of $87,462.31.
- Led by Campaign Committee member Sean Looney, Comcast Universal donated its significant time, resources and expertise in creating a 4-minute video to be utilized as a powerful tool to inform our community and potential donors about the need to support Resiliency efforts through the Ready, Strong and Connected Campaign. - Leading by example, FMA Foundation Board President, Deon Viergutz engaged his Lockheed Martin employees with fundraising challenge at their annual picnic for the Ready, Strong and Connected Campaign, with $1,100 raised that day. This employee donation was offered in tandem with the $10,000 check from the company.
