Blas Telleria, Jr. - Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach
Blas Telleria, Jr. brings a wealth of coaching experience to the position of Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Capital High School. His successful coaching career spans 24 years and includes coaching both boys varsity basketball and girls varsity basketball.
- 13 years as Capital High Varsity Girls Basketball Coach (2006-2019), leading his teams to the Southern Idaho Conference Championship in 2013, reaching the State 5A Tournament five times, and earning the State Sportsmanship Award in 2013.
- Eight years as Capital High School Boys Varsity Basketball Assistant Coach, qualifying for the State 5A Tournament six times, earning the State Runner-Up Title in 2006.
- Three years as Capital High School Boys Sophomore Head Basketball Coach, leading his teams to the Regular Season and Conference Championships (2003) and Conference Championship (2005).
Coach Telleria played for the University of Idaho Men’s Basketball Team.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education (Double Major: English and History, Minor: Social Studies) from the University of Idaho, his Master of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Idaho and he is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree from the University of Idaho.
Coach Telleria is a Capital High Graduate who has been working in the Boise School District since 1997 and currently teaches English at Capital.
