Ally Kleinsorgen
has been selected to serve as Capital High School's new Head Swim Coach effective for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
Coach Kleinsorgen grew up in Succasunna, New Jersey. She started swimming at 7 years old on a recreational summer lake league team with her younger sister, Jackie. At age 9, she began swimming for the local YMCA swim team year round. In high school, she lettered all four years and swam at state meets sponsored by the YMCA and high school sports association. She was captain of her high school and YMCA teams. She was recruited by Boise State Swimming and Diving in the spring of 2015, and swam as a Bronco from 2015-2019.
During her time as a swimmer, she won back-to-back Morris County Championships in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke for her high school and was the YMCA State Champion in the 100 backstroke. She represented Randolph YMCA five-times at YMCA Nationals. In college, she was a nine-time Mountain West Champion in the 100 backstroke, 200 and 400 medley, and 200 and 400 freestyle relays. She contributed to Boise State's Mountain West Team Championship wins in 2017 and 2018. She is an NCAA Division 1 All-American Honorable Mention in the 200 freestyle relay. She was a two-time Phillips 66 Summer Nationals participant, a 2017 World Championship Trials participant and a US Open Nationals Championship finalist in the 50 freestyle. Throughout her career, she has also broken numerous high school, YMCA, and BSU team records.
She graduated from Boise State University this spring with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education.
Coach Kleinsorgen says swimming is her first love, and is excited to give back to the sport that gave her so many opportunities and experiences.
