Join students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Capital University as we celebrate 25 years of the Capital Center and official ribbon cutting of our new Betty A. Byelene Indoor Track located in the Capital Center Fieldhouse.

We'll celebrate the donors who made the Capital Center possible, honor those whose generosity brought the new fieldhouse to life and look ahead to what's next for Capital.

As Capital rises, we’re building a strong foundation while creating new opportunities for today’s students and generations to come. This celebration is a chance to honor where we’ve been, celebrate where we are, and look forward to where we’re going - together.

The evening will also feature the debut of the Capital University Pep Band, bringing new energy and school spirit to campus. Following the celebration, guests are invited to stay for Women's Volleyball vs. Earlham at 7 p.m. in the Capital Center Arena.

Heavy hors d'oeuvres and anniversary cake will be served.

Fall 2026 Graduation Application Deadline

Please remind students completing their degree this December that the Fall 2026 graduation application is open through September 11. Students should apply in MyCap ("Apply for Graduation"). This step is required whether or not they plan to walk in the May 2027 ceremony.

As Capital Rising moves into implementation, all active initiatives within each division and department should receive an initial update in our strategic planning software, Envisio, no later than September 21. These updates will help prepare the University for the HLC visit and the fall meeting of the Board of Trustees.

Additional guidance regarding the format and expectations will be shared with plan owners and contributors in the near future.

Welcome Weekend reCap

Thank you to everyone who helped make Welcome Weekend such a success! From move-in to the Gate Ceremony, our faculty, staff, and volunteers showed up in a big way to welcome our newest Comets to campus. Your time, energy, and warm welcomes helped set the tone for a great start to the semester. Thank you for all you do to make Capital feel like home.

Come Sing with CapChoirs This Semester!

Faculty and staff are invited to join Choral Union, an intergenerational choir of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members, led by new Director of Choral Activities Dr. Adam Potter. Rehearsals are Mondays, 7 to 9:30 p.m., starting September 21, with performances at the all-CapChoirs concert, Christmas Festival, and a spring collaboration with orchestra.

No prior experience needed. Auditions are simple and low-pressure. Daytime options

(Cantabile, Consort) are also available if Mondays don't work.
