Capital will host its 176th Commencement Ceremony for undergraduate students with the following schedule and details.


Saturday, May 9


  • 9 a.m.
    Baccalaureate Service
    : Inter-denominational service held in Gloria Dei at Trinity Lutheran Seminary
    
  • 11 a.m.
    Commencement Ceremony
    : Undergraduate ceremony in the Capital Center, followed by a gate ceremony celebration on the front lawn


Live broadcast: Available on Capital University’s YouTube channel for those unable to attend in person


Seating and Access: General admission seating with designated areas guests with mobility or hearing impairments; all entrances are accessible


Tickets: Required for entry (except lap-sitting infants and toddlers).

IMC is launching a Graduate Showcase video series on Capital's social media to highlight graduating seniors’ experiences, leadership, and advice. Interested students should complete the form to share information and photos that can be shared on social media. A member of the IMC team will follow up if more information is needed!

Undergraduate students must have a cap, gown, and tassel in order to participate in commencement. Order through Herff Jones.

 

Graduate and Seminary students must have a cap, gown, tassel, and hood in order to participate in commencement.

 

Regalia is also available to purchase in-person at the University Gear Shop in the Student Union.

Extra Tickets for Undergraduate Commencement


We’re excited to share that graduating students can now receive up to 8 guest tickets for Commencement. Tickets will be distributed beginning May 4 at the Student Community Engagement Office in the Student Union.


If you don’t need all 8 tickets, please return any extras to the office so they can be made available to others. Tickets may not be purchased or sold.


Please note that tickets are not required for graduate students attending the May 6 ceremony or for Seminary students attending the May 16 ceremony.

Congratulations to Capital University Law School!


Capital University Law School is celebrating an outstanding year for its Moot Court and Mock Trial programs, with multiple teams earning top honors in national and regional competitions. Most notably, Capital’s team captured first place at the Siegenthaler-Sutherland National First Amendment Moot Court Competition, outperforming competitors from top-tier law schools.


Additional highlights include two teams advancing to the top 16 at the National Competition in Child Welfare and Adoption Law, with one team earning third place for Best Overall Brief. Capital students also claimed a championship at the Ohio Attorney General Mock Trial Competition, along with multiple individual awards, and an American Bar Association competition team advanced to the top 16 in its region.

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

Capital is participating in the NSSE survey to hear directly from first-year and senior students about their academic and co-curricular experiences. Your feedback helps improve programs, support services, and career preparation across campus, and this year’s survey also includes questions on first-year experiences and senior transitions. The survey runs March 11–April 8, with invitations sent to your Capital email.


As a thank you for participating, students who complete the survey by April 8 will be entered into a drawing to win one of several Amazon gift cards, including a $300 grand prize. Your voice matters! Please take a few minutes to share your experience and help shape the future of Capital.

CBIZ Compensation and Benefits Study – Job Analysis Questionnaire Process

The University has partnered with CBIZ Compensation Consulting to conduct a review of current job classifications and compensation. This study will help ensure Capital’s compensation system remains competitive, fair, and aligned with comparable organizations while supporting a performance-oriented culture.


During the week of March 9, administrative and staff employees received an email with instructions to complete an online Job Analysis Questionnaire (JAQ). This questionnaire is an important opportunity to provide detailed information about your role and responsibilities.
