Speaker of the House Daniel Perez (R-Miami) and Representative Sam Garrison (R-Fleming Island)
Welcome to the first edition of our supplemental 2025 Capitol Connection. On Tuesday, May 13th members of the Florida House of Representatives returned to Tallahassee for a thirty-minute floor session in which Representative Sam Garrison introduced House Continuing Resolution (HCR) 1633 extending the 2025 legislative session until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2025. The House Continuing Resolution outlined the same scope of the extension to only include the16 bills outlined in the original HCR 1631. A full transcript of Speaker of the House Daniel Perez’s, (R- Miami) remarks may be found here. At this time the Senate has not agreed to the Friday, June 30, 2025, extension signaling their hopes that agreement can still be reached by the original June 6th date.
Members are expected to return to Tallahassee after Memorial Day where we will continue to bring you information from Tallahassee, As always we would like to thank you for subscribing to Capitol Connection. Please be on the lookout for additional editions as legislative events continue to unfold through June 30, 2025.
Until next time!
Sincerely,
The Florida Alliance of Children’s Councils & Trusts
