Holiday Party, Ugly Sweater Contest and Clothing Drive

Join us for a night of festive fun on Wednesday, December 11 from 6:30 to 8pm at A/Stir at 818 E Pike St.

Get ready to mingle, dance, and celebrate the season with your fellow CHCC members over happy-hour drinks. This in-person event promises good company, great music, and plenty of holiday cheer -- a chill evening to meet your neighbors, make new friends, and take a nice deep rejuvenating breath as we head into 2025 together.

And in case you have a tacky sweater lurking in your dresser drawers, now's the chance to bust it out: We'll be holding an Ugly Sweater Contest, with prizes that include gift certificates to local merchants.

The evening will also serve as a clothing drive for Lowell Elementary. Bring clean and wearable clothing to donate, and we'll pass it along to local families in need. Pull-on sweat/sport pants, as well as larger size coats and jackets, are especially appreciated. Child and teen sizes are best, but we'll take it all.

Admission is free, but we ask that folks RSVP in advance so we know how many friends to expect.

Maybe 2024 Election Parties Just ain't our Thing

Even though we had 350+ people get tickets to our election watch party, it was not to be. The SIFF Egyptian Theater is closed for the foreseeable future (CHS Blog Coverage). A water pipe broke right before our watch party. Given how things turned out, it was probably for the best.

Not to be deterred by such things, we are still marching on, but with more vigor in our step. We must be the force of change needed in the world.

We thank the SIFF Egyptian for their support and wish a speedy remediation and recovery for our beloved neighborhood theater. - more info
