April 10, 2020

My office has set up a COVID-19 specific webpage on www.danhuberty.com for updates and state agency specific information. As this situation continues to develop, we will do our best to get all relevant information out through newsletters, as well as through posts on my Facebook page.

Due to the COVID-19 virus, both the Capitol and the District offices will remain closed. However, my staff will be teleworking and will be available via email. Please continue to follow safe social distancing and hygiene practices during this time, and know that we are available if needed. Be aware that all agencies are prioritizing COVID-19 virus related constituent casework before other matters.

The Texas House of Representatives is consolidating COVID-19 related information. To access the COVID-19 information, visit house.texas.gov/coronavirus.

Sincerely,
Capitol & District Office Closure Notice

All Houston Parks Closed for Easter Weekend
Closure of IH-59 Northbound/Southbound
Lanes & Frontage Roads
The Grand Parkway Infrastructure team is excited to announce that crews are scheduled to engage in a critical milestone; the construction of the new SH-99 bridges that will travel over IH-59. This work will be performed in several stages, as crews will need to erect bridge beams, set deck panels, pour the concrete roadway, and other miscellaneous activities.

The construction of the bridges is scheduled to be completed in 3-4 months. Periodically, the team will be closing frontage roads, and all northbound or southbound main lanes on IH-59 to traffic during the activities described above. It is important to note that all northbound and southbound main lanes  will never  be closed to traffic simultaneously. Motorists will be detoured to the frontage roads during main lane closures.

The first set of main lane closures will be implemented the weekend of April 17. Details Below.
  • All southbound travel lanes on IH-59 will be closed south of the Porter/Conroe Exit to motorists during the overnight hours 8PM-5AM on Friday, April 17.
  • All northbound travel lanes on IH-59 will be closed north of the Community Drive Exit to motorists during the overnight hours 8PM-5AM on Saturday, April 18.
  • Future closures will be announced through media advisories, Grand Parkway Infrastructure’s official project website (www.sh99grandpkwy.com), and Facebook/Twitter accounts (@SH99GrandPkwy).
