Member of Rural Affairs and Agriculture Committee; Business Affairs and Labor Committee
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
It's been an exciting week at the Capitol. I had one bill pass third reading in the House and three bills make it out of committee. The three bills from committee were all clean-up bills from the Statutory Revision Committee.
This last weekend, I held a town hall with the Larimer County League of Women Voters to answer questions on the
National Popular Vote bill. If enough states pass the NPV compact
to reach 270 electoral votes, Colorado will pledge their delegates to the winner of the NPV. People came with smart and in-depth questions. Yesterday, the bill passed the House and is on its way to the Governor's desk. For more information visit:
Last week, I had the opportunity to travel to Delaware with the
National Institute of Civil Discourse to train the State Legislature in civil discourse. Working in any legislature can be difficult at times and there are always differences of opinions on bills. Having a foundation of trustworthy relationships between members can help conversations on tough issues be more engaging and understanding. As your state representative, it's not always about passing bills-my service extends nationally to promote good governance.
This week, I had a special staffer join me in Denver. Mr. Leopold Arndt! He's my goofy pup who does a great job greeting guests that stop by my office.
You are all invited to the upcoming Community Forum at Old Town Library on Saturday, February 22nd from 10am-11:30m. The address is 201 Peterson St, Fort Collins, CO 80524. We will be discussing health policy in Colorado.
