Capitol Update
Representative Jeni Arndt- HD 53
Assistant Caucus Chair; Chair of Agriculture, Livestock, and Natural Resources Committee;
Member of Business Affairs and Labor Committee
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Happy Valentine's Day!
(Huge crowd at Saturday's Town Hall)
Thank you to everyone who came to our Town Hall this past Saturday! We had over 145 people in attendance. I love the mobilization and enthusiasm coming from our community. If anyone has ideas for a bigger space, please let me know.
 (Rep. Arndt testifying on HB17-1148)
Yesterday, I had another bill make it through committee unanimously, with a 13-0 vote. HB17-1148 works to keep industrial hemp a legitimate crop, by giving the Commissioner of Agriculture the ability to deny an application that has violated the 0.3% THC threshold- because, well, that's not hemp!

(Rep. Arndt and Dr. Straayer celebrating Colorado State University Founders Day)
This past Thursday, Colorado State University celebrated its 147th year as the state's land-grant university.  CSU Founders Day is celebrated each year at the Capitol courtesy of Dr. John Straayer. Since 1980, he has overseen the infamous  internship  program that gives political science students a firsthand look at the inner workings of state government. More than 1,000 students have gone through his program including my wonderful aide and intern.

You are all invited to the next C ommunity  Issues Forum with me, Rep. Ginal, and Senator Kefalas. We will meet at Old Town Library with two experts discussing the budget, Gallagher Amendment, and school finance.  As always, feel free to call me anytime at 970-231-5090 or email me at jeniarndt53@gmail.com.
