Capitol Update
Representative Jeni Arndt- HD 53

Dear Neighbors,

The 70th session of the Colorado Legislature ends at mid-night on Wednesday, May 6th.

Yesterday my water bill regarding historic consumption (SB15-183) was signed by the Governor. This bill protects water rights as property rights.  It prevents a forced use of water every year after a change is approved that would harm the environment, water users and water ratepayers.  I am very proud of this bipartisan bill that is now a law in Colorado. It will be a critical part of our Colorado water future-adding certainty to water rights and reducing water court proceedings.

The Partnership for Age-Friendly Communities in Larimer County is sponsoring the Larimer County Summit on Aging at the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Drive, Fort Collins, on Thursday, May 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Larimer County demographic forecasts indicate that the population over age 65 will grow 140% and retiree spending will almost triple over the next 20 years.  Understanding, planning, and acting on how this major demographic shift will affect employees, businesses, developers, healthcare, government, and overall quality of life is imperative.  For information and registration please go to  I will be there-hope you are too!
