Capitol Update
Representative Jeni Arndt- HD 53
Assistant Caucus Chair; Chair of Agriculture, Livestock, and Natural Resources Committee;
Member of Business Affairs and Labor Committee

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The final Sportsmen Caucus of the year (Left). Wearing whatever it takes to get the bill passed! (Right).
Yesterday, Colorado Parks and Wildlife's Future Generations Act passed its last vote. After five years of collaboration, the bill is on to the governor's desk. Taking care of our public lands is critical for Colorado's future and we are thrilled about the bill's passage. The debate got a little heated on the House Floor, but my co-sponsor Rep Jim Wilson and I were able to fend off some bad amendments that set dangerous precedents. To hear my remarks, click on the video below:
The dinner with the Colorado Livestock Association.
I am honored to be the Colorado Livestock Association's (CLA) Legislator of the Year. CLA does fantastic work collaborating with farmers and ranchers across the state. The bill that passed this year was a collaborative effort between our state health department and CLA to ensure water quality across the state.
Drinking some recycled water.

Last Friday, Denver Water and Colorado Water Reuse hosted a tour of the demonstration site for direct potable reuse. They are turning wastewater into pure drinking water and it tastes great! Denver Water has the largest water recycling facility in Colorado. Recycled water and direct potable reuse  is what it will take to protect Colorado's future water supply.
Teachers marching on the Capitol.
Monday, hundreds of Colorado teachers marched on the Capitol demanding better pay and  a secure retirement. Rumor has it, we will see teachers in force next week for same reasons. Looking forward to witnessing  thousands of educators standing up for public education.
