Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Yesterday, I had a bill signing for SB18-182. The bill bolsters the state's horse purse structure by making it more sustainable and competitive. Colorado is not currently one of most desirable states to race horses in, but this bill should change that.
HB18-1241 made it out of the House last week and passed its first committee test in the Senate. This is a restorative justice bill that ensures folks on the RJ Council are reimbursed for expenses. The RJ Council was created in 2007 to
support the development of restorative justice programs.
Earlier this week, SB18-187 The bill creates rules around recycling marijuana stems and root stocks. On to the Governor!
Today, I turned in a letter requesting an interim committee to study adjunct professor pay and working conditions. Non-tenure track faculty are critical in higher education, however they are underpaid and overworked. The goal of the summer study committee is to work together to solve the issues of pay and working conditions.
