Capitol Update
Representative Jeni Arndt- HD 53
Dear Neighbor,

I hope all is well!

This has been a busy week with lots of visitors

On Monday, I was joined by Ansley Jones (4th grader) after she wrote to me this summer expressing her concern for animal rights. She had the honor of leading the House of Representatives in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Jake Pritchett Poudre High School student and Emilio Nunez-Garcia Colorado College student (two of my alma maters) shadowed me. On Wednesday Jeff Borg's class from Front Range Community College spent the day at the Capitol.

Two of my bills came to committee this week with mixed results. My bill concerning Nation Board Certified Teachers failed in the Education Committee ( see story in Chalkbeat).  My Agriculture Innovation ( HB16-1226) bill with Representative Young was heard in committee this week and we expect a favorable outcome next week. This bill will provide an agricultural grant and reimbursement program to foster development in the agricultural sector. I asked the Colorado Water Congress to create a sub-committee to help fine tune my Colorado Ag Water Protection Act. There have been 35 individuals helping to carefully craft this bill.
