Capitol Update
Representative Jeni Arndt- HD 53
Dear Neighbor,

Last week we had Agriculture Day at the Capitol. We celebrated with the annual cook off.  I was paired with Mark Sponsler from the Colorado Corn Growers Association and we made a great team!  We served dessert created by the head pastry chef at the Brown Palace.

I was recently appointed to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Infrastructure (NRI). The NCSL is a bipartisan organization that serves legislators across the nation. NCSL provides research, technical assistance and opportunities for policymakers to exchange ideas on the most pressing state issues. The NRI committee, which meets twice yearly, covers state and federal legislation, regulations, policies and programs related to energy and electric utilities, transportation infrastructure and safety, and agriculture and rural development.

Last week The Arc of Larimer County also visited the Capitol.  They advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc of Colorado provides educational information for clients and their families. They connect clients to community resources, help them understand and access government services, and stand with them when they need an advocate.
