Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My first bill made it out of the House on third reading.
HB18-1095 is a bill that addresses the teacher shortage by allowing military spouses to obtain a Colorado teaching license if they have been successful teachers at previous locations.
Senate bill I co-primed with Senator Merrifield regarding campaign finance reform for school board elections died in the Senate. I pledge to continue working on campaign finance reform and getting big money out of politics as long as I serve you.
I am running three bills that allow expanded use for reclaimed water-toilet flushing, marijuana and edible crops. See the above graphic for states where this is already legal. In a water short area like Colorado, efficient use of reclaimed water is essential.
"Recycled water is a big part of Colorado's strategy to meet future water needs of the Denver metro area and beyond," said Denver Water CEO/Manager Jim Lochhead. "It was identified as a supply strategy in the state water plan, and as part of that effort, Denver Water is pursuing expanded uses of recycled water."
You are all invited to join me, Rep. Joann Ginal, and Sen. John Kefalas for a Town Hall at Old Town Library on Saturday, February 10th from 10:00am-11:30am. The address is 201 Peterson St, Fort Collins, CO 80524. We will be taking questions. Please join us!
As always, feel free to call me anytime at 970-231-5090 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
