Season's Greetings

In this special issue of Capstone News, we’re looking back over 2022 and all the awesome things we’ve accomplished in the past year. Our team has grown, added new services to our portfolio, and partnered with some amazing organizations. Let’s dive right in!

Because the heart and soul of Capstone is our people, let’s begin with our expanded team. This year, we have welcomed six new full-time experts, that’s a 120% increase to our team. This means we now have even more resources available to our current and potential clients. Not to mention we have also added more consultants to our network, giving us a wide range of expertise in various industries from emergency services to oil & gas, to financial services and everthing in between.

As our team grows, so does the need for more office space. We’ve recently expanded our space in Dartmouth, NS and added a second Nova Scotia office location in Bridgewater. We have also added two new offices in Ontario: in Barrie and Blyth. Our experts in project management, change management, business analysis, IT services/support, cyber security, privacy, data management, and communications & public relations are now even more accessible whether in person or virtually.

This leads us perfectly into our newest service offering: 9-1-1 Modernization. Over the last few months Capstone has ramped up our expertise regarding the Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) implementation which is happening in both Canada and the US. Our team is currently working with the Province of Nova Scotia, the City of Barrie and we have just signed on with BC Emergency Health Services to provide project management services for their NG 9-1-1 implementations.

We’ve had such great opportunities this year to work with some amazing organizations. Whether they are/were clients or partnerships, we have learned new skills as well as shared our knowledge and expertise. At Capstone, we believe knowledge should be shared for the betterment of our industry, our professional network, and our clients. In 2022, we’ve had the pleasure of working with:

  • Province of Nova Scotia Emergency Management Office
  • Province of Nova Scotia Victim Services Sexual Offense Legal Representation Program
  • City of Barrie Emergency Services
  • Halifax Water
  • Digital Nova Scotia
  • Halifax Chamber of Commerce
  • BC Emergency Health Services
  • Government of Nova Scotia Accessibilities Act
  • Nova Scotia Department of Community Services
  • Nova Scotia Lands
  • Nova Scotia Health
  • Forsight Atlantic

Our team works hard to minimize our impact on the environment, which not only helps us keep costs down but also keeps our services at a competitive rate. We officially introduced our Sustainability Policy in 2022 and implemented a hybrid in-office/work from home model for our team. Our goal is to adapt to the modern way of working as it happens while keeping our clients' needs a top priority.

To say it has been a successful year for Capstone is an understatement. Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure success for our clients, our industry partners and ourselves. We are so excited to take this momentum into 2023 and we sincerely hope you will join us on our journey. We wish everyone a very safe, happy, and healthy holiday season. See you in 2023!
