Kindness in our Community

This month's Peabody PROMISE Shout Out goes to Higgins 6th grade teacher, Vincent Raponi.

Mr. Raponi is raising money for the
Best Buddies program in honor of Higgins Stingrays (cluster) teacher Matthew Brennan who passed away in October, 2025.

Mr. Raponi will be riding in the 2026 Best Buddies Challenge, a 100 mile bike ride that will take place on May 30th. He has pledged to raise as much money as possible for this amazing organization, and every cent will be given directly to them in Mr. Brennan's name.
Anyone interested in supporting Mr. Raponi can donatate directly on the Best Buddies website http://engdr.co/1-5546069 or
Venmo @vinnie-raponi

Best of luck, Mr. Raponi and Thank You for your generosity and kindness!

Jay's Cookies: A Recipe for Kindness

Culinary students at PVMHS baked dozens of cookies for Jay's Cookies, a cookie gram event sponsored by the Class of 2029, and Jason's Legacy Foundation to promote kindness throughout the school in memory of Jason Bernard. The sweet treats were sent with messages such as: Be the Reason Someone Smiles Today, and Kindness is Free, Pass It On. Click here for more on this story and photos.

Grade 3 Art Contest

Healthy Peabody Collaborative is currently hosting a district-wide art contest for Grade 3 students. Students are asked to draw a picture and write a brief description of someone they can count on. They can choose someone they trust; someone who encourages them and believes in them. This person can be from their family, school, after school activities, community, or from any part of their life where they feel understood, listened to, or like they matter.

One winner from each elementary school is chosen by Middle and High School students. Their artwork is featured on a poster as part of the #becauseofyoupeabody campaign to be hung in all 8 elementary schools.

Research shows that kids who have caring and supportive people in their lives have higher self-esteem and academic performance and lower teen substance use and feelings of loneliness, anxiety or depression.
