Library News
This week we are sharing our October Highlights! Our monthly highlights will always include 4 major statistics and some anecdotal information. Look at our Twitter to see the full infographic- @carpe_librarian.
This month Ms. Carpenter taught 24 classes ranging between Onramps chemistry research, English IV Controversial Issues research, and informal research with CTE Principles of Technology about the forms and functions of bridge design for an upcoming project. We had 66 class visits- this includes classes coming in to check out books, utilizing the makerspace, or working in small groups on projects.
We had an outstanding month of circulation this month, with 1,022 physical books checked out. We have also seen an increased use in our databases and research platforms. We had 6,852 student visits: this includes students who come in on their own, with their classes, or with their clubs.
We also launched a brand new incentive website to reward students who are reading and participating in library programs. This website allows students to see their efforts in reading and see their habits, and get badges and prizes along the way. This is just one way the library is providing autonomous learning opportunities for students.
