Dear Mooney Family,
February and March are always busy times of year for our admissions and counseling offices as we begin to accept and register incoming freshmen, and work to register classes for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Consequently, next week, we will be mailing all families their re-enrollment packets for next school year. The materials include the Re-enrollment Form, EdChoice Renewal Form, and EdChoice Authorization Form. Most importantly, the re-enrollment form needs to be completed by March 14. Please prioritize completing these tasks to ensure a smooth transition for your son(s)/daughter(s) next school year.
Over the next couple of weeks, during a portion of Theology classes, our school counselors will advise students about their class scheduling options for next year. During these meetings, our counselors address the various graduation requirements, special programs, and course offerings to ensure students can make well-informed decisions about their course selections for next year. We recommend that our parents also take some time to review the 2025-26 Course Description Booklet and course registration forms, which will be available on the website next week.
The Course Description Booklet will provide a comprehensive overview of all academic requirements and policies, and a detailed description of every class. Your student's course registration form will present their class choices for the next school year. When that form is complete, your signature will be required for your student to move forward with online registration later in March. Students must have turned in their re-enrollment forms to register for classes.
Also, on March 11 and April 26, we will invite incoming families to our new student registration days. Parents can learn more about freshman-year (and transfer-year) course offerings, our bell schedule, uniform, and class registration during these events.
For any inquiries about course registration, reach out to your student’s counselor — the freshman/sophomore counselor, Mrs. O'Neill, or the junior/senior counselor, Mrs. Hughes.
Warm Regards,
|

All are welcome at Ash Wednesday Mass
As we look to begin the sacred season of Lent, Cardinal Mooney High School invites all members of the Mooney Family—students, parents, alumni, and friends—to join us for our Ash Wednesday Mass on Wednesday, March 5, at 11 a.m. in the school auditorium. This special liturgy marks the beginning of our Lenten journey, a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter.
Ash Wednesday reminds us of our call to repentance and renewal in Christ. When we receive ashes on our foreheads, we hear the words, “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” This solemn reminder of our mortality invites us to turn away from sin and embrace the Gospel with renewed faith. As a Catholic school, our mission is rooted in forming disciples of Christ—young men and women who seek truth, serve others, and grow in holiness. Lent offers us a powerful opportunity to deepen our relationship with God through acts of self-denial, generosity, and reflection on His boundless mercy.
We encourage all students and families to enter this season with open hearts, embracing its call to “Return to the Lord with all your heart” (Joel 2:12). Join us in prayer as we begin this holy time together.
We look forward to seeing you at Mass as we journey through Lent as one Mooney Family!
