What is your impact?

As we move into the winter season, I invite everyone to reflect on a simple but meaningful question: “What is your impact?” Every one of us makes an impact each day—through the way we approach our responsibilities, the attitude we bring to our routines, and the role we play in our community. This time of year is filled with possibility, and there is no better moment than now to challenge yourself to try something new as we look to the new year! Whether you’re building a new skill, discovering a hidden talent, or connecting with others who share your interests, our Community Education programs are here to support growth and learning at every age and stage of life.

Our collective impact becomes even stronger through the partnerships we create—with local organizations, our schools, and the many community members who share a commitment to positive, lifelong learning experiences. These relationships allow us to offer a rich variety of opportunities that inspire curiosity, encourage engagement, and reflect the forward-thinking spirit of our community.

“What is your impact?” is more than a question—it’s a mindset that shapes how we show up for ourselves and for one another every day. As we enter this season of new beginnings and full calendars, let’s continue building a community defined by curiosity, connection, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact.

Happy Holidays and New Beginnings!

Here for You—This Season and Always

As we head into the colder months and the busy holiday season, we know this time of year can bring added challenges for some families. Whether you’re experiencing food insecurity, housing or utility concerns, clothing needs, or difficulty covering holiday expenses—please know you’re not alone.

Our school social workers are here to connect families with local resources and programs that can provide support with:

  • Groceries and meals
  • Housing or utility assistance
  • Clothing or winter gear
  • Holiday support for children and families

All requests are handled confidentially and with care.

If your family could use a little extra support, we encourage you to reach out to your school’s social worker:

A Sweet Tradition: 25 Years of Second Grade Gingerbread Houses

This year marks a special milestone for our second graders as we celebrated the 25th anniversary of a beloved school tradition, the building and decorating of gingerbread houses. What began in 2000 has grown into a cherished annual event filled with creativity, laughter, and plenty of sugary fun.

Students eagerly welcomed their family members into the classroom to help with both the construction and decorating phases of their gingerbread masterpieces. Together, they carefully assembled graham cracker walls, frosted rooftops, and candy-lined pathways—all while sneaking a sweet treat or two from the “building supplies.”

The day was filled with smiles, teamwork, and the wonderful aroma of frosting. We’re grateful for the families who joined in to make this hands-on celebration so memorable. Here’s to 25 years of sticky fingers, colorful creations, and many more sweet moments to come!

Congratulations to our November Students of the Month!
