Homecoming Season is Here!

Get ready to bring the noise, Cardinals! Homecoming season is officially here, and a massive wave of Cardinal pride is already electrifying the town. This action-packed, week-long tradition is our favorite way to unite students, staff, alumni, and the entire community. From fun dress-up days and high-energy pep fests to entertaining athletic matchups, the excitement is building toward a weekend you won't want to miss!

It’s the perfect opportunity for students to make unforgettable memories, for alumni to reconnect, and for all of us to stand together and show everyone what makes Annandale so special. Mark your calendars for a jam-packed Friday, October 2 lineup, starting with the ultimate Pep Fest kickoffs at each building Friday morning. Be sure to head over for some pre-game fun at the Tailgate Party from 3:30-6:00 pm outside of the stadium. Then, pack the stands and show your support as the Homecoming football game kicks off at 7:00 pm, where our Cardinals will bring the drive to defend the nest against the Holy Family Fire! Our High Schoolers will wrap up the weekend by dancing the night away at Saturday’s Homecoming dance.

Make sure to check out all of the fun going on throughout the week. Let’s pack the stands, bring the energy, and let our Cardinal spirit shine brighter than ever!

Minnesota Permanent School Fund - Vote Yes this fall!

Did you know that if this passes, it would generate approximately $67,000 for the Annandale School District without raising taxes?

As students return to school this fall, families across Minnesota are preparing for a new year of learning and opportunity. Many Minnesotans may not realize that our state has supported public education through the Minnesota Permanent School Fund for more than 165 years. Today, the fund continues to generate revenue through timber sales, mining, land leases, and other natural resource activities. These revenues are invested by the State Board of Investment to provide ongoing financial support for Minnesota's public schools while preserving the fund for future generations.

This November, Minnesota voters will consider a proposed constitutional amendment related to the Permanent School Fund. If approved, the amendment would modernize how the existing fund is distributed by increasing the annual distribution percentage from 2–2.5% to 4.5%.

The official ballot question asks whether the Minnesota Constitution should be amended to increase the funding distributed to all school districts from the Permanent School Fund, effective July 1, 2027, without raising individual income or property taxes. Minnesota election law also provides that if a voter leaves this ballot question blank while voting in other races, it is counted as a "No" vote.
