2024 Full Speed Ahead!

As the first half of the school year comes to an end, we want to thank our school community for their continued support and care for our students. We would also like to take this opportunity to provide a glimpse of how we celebrate the amazing students at the middle school each month.

We are proud to shine a spotlight on the exemplary behavior exhibited by our students during our monthly Cardinal Cash school-wide assembly. In these gatherings, we celebrate the core values of integrity, respect, and positive attitudes that define our school community. Students who exemplify these values are recognized and applauded for their outstanding contributions to creating a positive and inclusive environment. These assemblies not only foster a sense of unity among our students but also serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of celebrating our students’ accomplishments. In addition, our commitment to recognizing exceptional character extends to our monthly Student of the Month breakfast. This special event is dedicated to honoring those students who consistently demonstrate amazing character in their daily interactions and activities. It provides a platform to bring our families into the building, acknowledge student success, and celebrate the efforts of individuals who go above and beyond in embodying the values that we hold dear.

Finally, we are celebrating the preparation and hard work of our future high schoolers. This month we are actively assisting our 8th graders in preparing for high school registration and we have worked hard to conclude the first half of the school year on a strong note. It is important that we let our school community know we are always here to help. Please contact our offices if you have any questions or concerns.

Our 2024-2025 District Calendar has been approved by our school board and is now available online: www.isd876.org/calendar.

Emergency Delays And School Closure Procedures

In the event of a school closure due to inclement weather or any other emergency, the first two days will be NO SCHOOL for all students. Teaching staff will use these as professional days. For school closures after two days, we will utilize eLearning. Additional information regarding eLearning is available here: isd876.org/elearning

Our families will receive an email and an automated phone call from the district if there is a delay or closure. It will also post to our website and to all of the major television stations. Our goal is to try to make this decision as soon as possible to give families ample time to make arrangements. Questions or concerns can be directed to our District Office: 320.274.5602

Health Services

With the winter season comes increased respiratory illnesses such as Covid and influenza. Families can find information about COVID-19 as well as other illness guidelines on our school website under Health Services.

How Long Do I Stay Home If I Test Positive For Covid?

As a reminder, Annandale Public Schools continues to require a person who tests positive for COVID-19 to stay home for 5 days. Tentative return to school would be either on day 6 after the positive test or the 6th day after symptoms started (whichever came first) and they should be fever free for 24 hours with other symptoms improving. For assistance calculating a return date visit the CDC Isolation and Exposure Calculator. You may also reach out to your school nurse if you have questions.

Get Free Home Covid Tests

Residents of Minnesota can receive 8 free rapid at-home COVID tests per household through the "Say Yes! Covid Test" Program. These tests come in the mail and can be reordered monthly while supplies last.

Annandale Elementary News

In February, to celebrate Children's Dental Health Month, 1st and 2nd graders will have the opportunity to enter a drawing to win an electric toothbrush. Each grade will have one winner. This giveaway is sponsored by the Dental Health Program of Wright County. Students will receive a brushing chart and instructions in their take home folders the last week of January for any who wish to participate.

For optimal winter fun, please continue to send the Essential 5 (hat, boots, coat, gloves, snow pants) with your child(ren) each day. The Essential 5 not only keeps students warm but when the snow comes it keeps their clothes dry and clean. Once the snow arrives, students without the Essential 5 will still be allowed outside but on the paved areas only. We ask that parents help reduce the lost and found inventory by labeling Essential 5 items with the student's initials, homeroom teacher, and school year (Example: 22/23 MN Weber).

Middle School Minutes

Spark Conference Fieldtrip - Twenty six of our 7th and 8th grade students, and a few 5th graders, traveled to St. Cloud State University for the Spark Conference. At this conference they explored topics in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. Students participated in breakout sessions and were given hands-on exposure to the topics. Many area businesses were involved and gave demonstrations on how STEM is used in their industry. This conference was supported by Resource Training and Solutions

Congratulations to our Middle School Students of the Month. This honor is given to students who consistently demonstrate amazing character in their daily interactions and activities.
