Hello JH Parents,

First semester is flying by! We are halfway through quarter two and progress reports are being mailed home. Please contact your student’s teachers with any questions or concerns you have regarding your student’s progress. The goal at CRJH is always communication that leads to growth. Do not hesitate to reach out.

In PowerSchool you will notice multiple categories for grades. Q1 is your child’s quarter 1 grade, Q2 is your child’s quarter 2 grade, E1 is the grade your child earns on his or her FINAL EXAM for that course, and S1 (semester 1) is the average of your student’s Q1, Q2, and E1 grade. Final exams are worth 20% of your student’s overall grade. All junior high school students take final exams. We have a very intensive final exam study table schedule that will come out in December. Students should plan to attend study tables.

If your 8th grader missed the opportunity to take the High School Placement Test last Saturday, the next opportunity will be on December 2nd. This test is mandatory for all 8th grade students. The test will be at CRHS and you should plan for your child to be here from 8:45-12:15. 

Lastly, the tradition continues! Our Thanksgiving Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, November 21st and JH parent volunteers will be needed to help set up and facilitate. For those who are new to CR, each year the entire school community gathers together in the gymnasium to eat a Thanksgiving meal together. Teachers “sponsor” tables and create various themes and activities. It truly is a unique and fun experience. Good luck to our CYO Football and Volleyball teams this weekend!

 Hola padres de Junior High,

El primer semestre se nos está pasando volando! Estamos a la mitad del segundo trimestre y los reportes de progreso se estarán enviando a casa la próxima semana por correo. Comuníquese con los maestros de su estudiante si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud sobre el progreso de su estudiante. El objetivo en CRJH es siempre la comunicación que conduzca al crecimiento. No dude en comunicarse.

En PowerSchool notarás múltiples categorías para las calificaciones. Q1 es la calificación del primer trimestre de su hijo, Q2 es la calificación del segundo trimestre de su hijo, E1 es la calificación que obtiene su hijo en su EXAMEN FINAL de ese curso y S1 (semestre 1) es el promedio de las calificaciones Q1, Q2 y Grado E1. Los exámenes finales valen el 20% de la calificación general de su estudiante. Todos los estudiantes de 7 y 8 grado toman exámenes finales. Tenemos un calendario intensivo de tutoría para exámenes finales el cual estará disponible en diciembre. Los estudiantes deben planear asistir a estas tutorías para que de esa manera estén más preparados para sus exámenes finales.

Si su hijo de octavo grado perdió la oportunidad de tomar el examen de admisión el sábado pasado, la próxima oportunidad será el 2 de diciembre. Esta prueba es obligatoria para todos los estudiantes de 8º grado. El examen será en CRHS y debe planificar que su hijo esté aquí de 8:45 a 12:15.

Por último, la tradición continúa! Nuestro lonche de Acción de Gracias se llevará a cabo el martes 21 de noviembre y se necesitarán padres voluntarios de JH para ayudar con la preparación y servir. Para aquellos que son nuevos en CR, cada año toda la comunidad de nuestra escuela se reúne en el gimnasio para comer juntos la comida de Acción de Gracias. Los maestros “patrocinan” mesas y crean diversos temas y actividades. Realmente es una experiencia única y divertida. Our annual Choral Festival for the West Deanery will take place at Cardinal Ritter High School on December 9, from 9:00am-12:30pm. This is for all students who love to sing in grades 5-8. Students will have the opportunity to sing with students from all over the deanery and perform in a Christmas Program. They will be under the direction of Ms. Kelly Leyba, the music director at Cardinal Ritter High School. This event is free for all students. Form is due to your Music Teacher by Wednesday, November 22.
