Notes From Ms. Leyba

Hello Junior High Families,

We have had a busy and eventful week in Junior High! We celebrated College Go Week, attended Mass together on Thursday morning, and ended the week with our Student Council Field Day. It was a fun week for our students!

I know I have been talking about our Fall Festival for a while, but it is finally here! Our Fall Festival will be next Friday, October 2, on the Cardinal Ritter Football Field. Students will be able to play on the field, enjoy some food, and, most importantly, roast marshmallows and make s’mores! Families and siblings are welcome to join us as well.

There is a flyer attached with information about donations needed for the event. Students will receive service hours for donated items. Every $10 donated equals 1 service hour. I am also looking for 2–3 bundles of firewood for our bonfires. If you would be willing to donate firewood, please contact me directly. I am looking forward to a fun and relaxing evening with our Junior High families!

Our Homecoming Bake Sale is only two weeks away! Thank you to everyone who has already shown interest and excitement about donating items. We have a sign up for donating baked goods and a sign up for helping work at the event on Friday, October 9, during the football game.

I will need volunteers starting at 5:00 p.m. to help set up tables and bring the donated items to the football field. We will also need help selling items during the game and cleaning up after the game.

Please see the two links below to sign up. Thank you so much for helping make this fundraiser a success! This was a huge event for us last year, and I am hoping we can make it even more successful this year.

Lastly, Homecoming Week is quickly approaching! This year, I would love to see our Junior High students bring home a win during Homecoming Week! One of the main ways we earn points throughout the week is through our dress-up days (see flyer below). Students can earn points for participating in the themes, and those points are tallied each day. We can also earn points during our Pep Rally on Friday through fun games and activities, as well as through our hallway decorations. Every point counts!

I will be meeting with our Junior High students next Friday to talk more about Homecoming activities and go over the dress-up days. They may come home asking for your help to come up with some fun ideas for their outfits, so be ready to get creative! I am excited to see our Junior High students show their school spirit and work together throughout the week!

Have a wonderful weekend and let me know how I can help!
