Message from the President
|
|
Dear Parents,
As we celebrate Holy Week, I hope we can look at this as an opportunity to further deepen our
understanding of its true meaning and how our faith can bring change and hope.
This past year has provided many challenges for all of us. As we take some time to connect to our
Lord’s passion, death, and resurrection, hopefully we are able to move forward from our own troubles
and find peace.
As Pope Francis reminds us “When we go to Mass, we do not go to pray. No, we go to renew, to bring about again this mystery, the Paschal mystery.
Thank you all for the opportunity to serve our wonderful communities. Have a prayerful Triduum and glorious Easter.
God Bless,
Mrs. Hoy

Prayer for Students
Lord our God,
in your wisdom and love
you surround us with the mysteries of the universe.
Send your Spirit upon these students
and fill them with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may
devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you,
the source of all knowledge. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
R/. Amen.

Cardinal Welcomes New Head Football Coach
Cardinal Ritter High School is proud to announce that Brad Purcell will be the new head coach of the Raiders Football Program. Following a successful season at Maconaquah High School as a head coach, Coach Purcell is able to come back to Indianapolis. He has a vast knowledge of football and the Catholic Identity of the Indianapolis Archdiocese. While growing up, Purcell participated in CYO football and played football at Bishop Chatard High School playing for the legendary coach Vince Loranzano. While at BCHS, he was a lineman on the 2001, 2002, and 2003 State Championship squads.
Coach Purcell has found success at every step of his coaching career. For his first coaching stint, he went back to his alma mater in 2009 and 2010 as an offensive and defensive line coach helping to guide the BCHS team to the IHSAA State title in 2010. In 2011, he moved to Guerin Catholic to take over line coaching duties and helped aid the team to a Regional Championship in 2011 and a Sectional in 2013. From there, he was hired at Scecina Memorial High School and moved up the ranks to defensive coordinator. While at Scecina, he coached under another legend in Coach Ott Hurrle and helped the Crusaders win Sectional Championships in 2015, 2017 and 2018 with the team winning the Regional in 2017.
Coach Purcell will bring his winning ways to go along with his knowledge of the game, the Indiana Crossroads Conference, and the West Deanery feeder programs to continue the winning traditions Cardinal Ritter High School has grown accustomed to.
Coach Purcell is married to his wife Jacki and has 4 kids named Griffey, Graham, Gus, and Goldie.
