How To Contact Cardinal Ritter

3360 W. 30th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46222
(317) 924-4333

Dear Parents,

At Cardinal Ritter, everything we do is rooted in our mission: forming young men and women of faith, integrity, scholarship, and service. Inspired by the Gospel and the rich tradition of the Church, we strive each day to help our students grow not only academically, but spiritually and morally as well.

As President, I am deeply grateful for the trust you place in us. Your partnership is what makes our community strong. Today, I am writing again to invite you to join us in supporting (if you haven’t already) one of the most important initiatives that sustains our mission each year — the Annual Fund.

The Annual Fund directly supports the daily life of our school. Unlike tuition, which covers only a portion of the true cost of education, the Annual Fund helps bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the full investment required to provide the exceptional Catholic education your students receive.

Gifts to the Annual Fund help us to:

  • Strengthen campus ministry programs, retreats, and service opportunities
  • Attract and retain outstanding Catholic educators
  • Enhance academic programs in STEM, fine arts, and theology
  • Provide tuition assistance to families in need
  • Maintain and improve campus facilities and technology

Every student benefits from the Annual Fund — every classroom, every team, every ministry.

In the next few weeks, you will receive in the mail letter asking you to prayerfully consider contributing to the Annual Fund. No gift is too small. What matters most is participation and shared commitment.

Thank you in advance.

God bless, Mrs. Hoy

Estimados padres:

servicio

• Atraer y retener a educadores católicos destacados

• Mejorar los programas académicos en STEM, bellas artes y teología

• Brindar asistencia financiera a familias necesitadas

Sra. Hoy

“"The fast of Lent has no advantage to us unless it brings about our spiritual renewal. It is necessary while fasting to change our whole life and practice virtue. Turning away from all wickedness means keeping our tongue in check, restraining our anger, avoiding all gossip, lying and swearing. To abstain from these things—herein lies the true value of the fast."” -St. John Chrysostom

Prayer for Students

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround
us with the mysteries of the universe.
Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them
with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

R/. Amen.

Spring Break Attendance Reminder

As Spring Break approaches, please remember that the days before and after Spring Break are mandatory attendance days. If your child is absent on those days, a doctor’s note is required for the absence to be excused. Unexcused absences result in no credit for missed schoolwork, which can have a serious negative impact on grades.

Junior Parents - All juniors will be taking the SAT in the morning on one of the following days - March 3-6. This will be during the school day and students will be dismissed to class after testing. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Lettich in the guidance office at jlettich@cardinalritter.org or by calling (317) 924-4333 ext. 423.

Black Catholic Ministry has received a grant through The National Black Catholic Congress for the successful implementation of Obaro Village: Rooted and Rising, a summer youth academy designed for middle school students. The program will focus on college and career exploration, art‑infused STEM learning, and Catholic formation rooted in Black Catholic spirituality and the early Church in Africa.

Program Name

Obaro Village: Rooted and Rising (“Obaro” meaning “Future” in the Urhobo language of Nigeria) will serve 40–50 rising sixth to ninth graders from the African Diaspora—including African American, African, Afro‑Caribbean, immigrant, refugee, and unchurched youth—who often face barriers to educational equity, spiritual engagement, and cultural affirmation.

Program Dates

Session 1: June 13–June 19

Session 2: July 11–July 17

Program Description

Obaro Village aims to empower participants through STEAM education, faith formation, leadership development, academic intrigue, career exploration, and community building. The program weaves Black Catholic spirituality with cultural dignity through immersive STEAM activities, college exposure, and intergenerational mentorship. Youth engage in daily prayer, inclusive liturgies, and reflections on Black saints and leaders whose lives exemplify devotion to Christ, resilience, and unwavering faith. STEAM sessions taught through a culturally responsive lens include plant‑based cyanotype prints, battery‑powered robotics, and mini soap box derby cars that blend creativity, physics, and engineering—activities designed to combat summer learning loss and build academic confidence.

Campers will also use media and storytelling to document family and community faith journeys, sharing stories through digital platforms to evangelize and inspire. Music, dance, and cultural arts rooted in African and Black Christian traditions will deepen spiritual connection and praise. College and career exposure is a key component, with field trips to local colleges and universities such as Marian University and Butler University. In the future, Black Catholic Ministry hopes to take campers to Xavier University of Louisiana, the nation’s first and only historically Black Catholic university (HBCU). These experiences—combined with mentoring from Black Catholic leaders, service projects, and vocational discernment—prepare youth to thrive as spiritually grounded, purpose‑driven leaders.

STEM TOWNHALL

At this week's STEM Town Hall our guest was Josie Malagon who started her career out as a Pharmacy Technician and is currently Pharmacy Operations manager at the Glendale Walgreens, having had other positions along the way including Pharmacy Financial Advisor and Assistant Store Manager. We had a good turnout and a great discussion about career paths following and entry-level Pharm Tech position.

Jonathon and Bria Curtis performed at the ISSMA state competition (after they both qualified at ISSMA a few weeks ago). Both performed with poise and skill earning Gold metals for both.

Bingo not your thing but still want to join in on the fun?

Why not volunteer to help out and earn some service hours.

We need help with Food prep, Check In, Clean up and more.

Raider Nation

The Cardinal Ritter Booster Club is excited to announce our Spring 2026 fundraiser beginning February 23, helping you stock up on items you already use every day.  We will be selling high-quality laundry detergent and dishwasher pods, making it easy to support our athletes while purchasing practical household essentials.

The laundry detergent and fabric softener will come in 5 gallon buckets ($45), providing over a year of detergent for most families.  Compared with typical store costs, this results in over $95 in savings! Laundry detergent pods ($30 for ~175) are also available if preferred.

Dishwasher pods ($30 for ~175) are available and are about half the price ($60 value!) as you would find at normal retailers.

Funds raised will directly support athletic needs such as equipment upgrades, travel expenses, training resources, and program enhancements not covered by the standard budget.

Instead of buying these items at the store, consider purchasing through our Booster Club and helping support the athletes who proudly represent our school.

Learning for the Love of It

The Notre Dame Pre-College Online Program offers a valuable and flexible option for high-achieving, curious students who want to explore subjects without the stress of their GPA.

Our courses in fields like law, business, and medicine provide college-level content that students can engage with at their own pace. This focus on pure exploration allows them to develop genuine interests and gain critical thinking skills outside of a graded environment.

This is a great resource to share with students who:

  • Need a break from their standard high school schedule.
  • Want to explore a specific passion project or future career.
  • Thrive on self-paced, guided learning.

Please feel free to circulate this message and the attached flyer—printable or shareable online—with students and their families.
