Dear Parents,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer and staying cool. Even though the weather keeps getting hotter, summer break is winding down.

To help your student have a great start to the school year, please make sure your student is working on their summer reading. Also make sure that you have ordered school uniforms if you were unable to attend our summer sale. The information is linked in this newsletter. Students will not be able to wear regular khakis this year - they will need to be ones with the CR embroidered on them from our previous company or from Tommy Hilfiger, our current vendor.

Parents of seniors, you should have received a postcard from Prestige by Lifetouch about senior portraits. That postcard has a unique code that your student will need in order to schedule their portrait session. Those dates are August 1-3 and are here at CRHS. Please take advantage of these dates because the portraits for the yearbook must be taken by January 3.

Let us know if you have any questions. The office is open 8:30-1:30 M-F. Our number is 317-924-4333.

In Christ’s Peace,
Kari Jost, Principal

Prayer for Students

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround
us with the mysteries of the universe.
Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them
with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

R/. Amen.
"Everybody today seems to be in such a terrible rush, anxious for greater developments and greater riches and so on, so that children have very little time for their parents. Parents have very little time for each other, and in the home begins the disruption of peace in the world."
–St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

SNAPCHAT

This Week, Snapchat released a new update that allows users to access another person's exact physical location on the "Snap Map". It also allows the other person to see how far away they are and will even provide driving and walking directions.

Kids often accept Snapchat friends they have not actually met. Online predators exploit this and use Snapchat to contact their victims due to the disappearing messages and photos. Unfortunately, this new update could further enable stalkers, thieves, and child predators on Snapchat.

  • How to keep your kids safe...Have kids put their Snapchat into "Ghost Mode" to disable location sharing
  • Turn off precise location in phone settings
  • Create a Family Technology Agreement
  • No tech in kids' rooms at night
  • Wait to give kids access to smartphones and social media
