Prayer for Students

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround
us with the mysteries of the universe.
Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them
with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

R/. Amen.

Dr. Bryant will oversee the STEM education program for Cardinal Ritter. He will be responsible for the development, and implementation, of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) curriculum, initiatives, and educational opportunities. Henry will also collaborate with stakeholders in education and the community to organize and promote interdisciplinary STEM activities that are aligned with content-area standards. In addition, he will connect with alumni, local community organizations, Universities, and businesses to provide enhanced, experiential learning opportunities for all students.

We are so excited to welcome Dr. Henry Bryant to our staff.

Indiana has long been a leader in school choice initiatives that support parents of children in accredited private and parochial schools. There was additional “School Choice” good news that came out of the recently completed session of the Indiana General Assembly. The newest enhancements to school choice in Indiana include the following:

· The income level eligibility for a School Choice Scholarship was increased to 400% of Free/Reduced income requirements (see the eligibility chart below).

· There are no longer any pathway requirements in order for a student to be eligible for a School Choice Scholarship.

· The use of a School Choice Scholarship was expanded to include Kindergarten in addition to the previously allowed expenses for children in grades 1-12.

By increasing the financial eligibility income levels to 400% of Free/Reduced income requirements, it is estimated that nearly 90% of our school community qualifies for a School Choice Scholarship. The amount of a School Choice Scholarship is determined by the public school district in which the student lives (see chart below).

Please carefully review carefully the income eligibility chart. If you qualify and/or if you have any questions, please contact Mariana Sauceda in the Cardinal Ritter Business Office or 317-924-4333, extension 404. The School Choice Scholarship application is simple and takes as little five minutes to complete (if your taxes are done).

PACT (Preparing Achieving and Caring for Tomorrow)

March 23, 2023

PACT allows for youth who have completed 9th-12th grade to be a junior camp counselor for EDGE Summer Camp. This is a paid position that not only includes counselor responsibilities, but also is a program that gives hands-on experiences to develop employability and social skills. June 5th - July 28th 2023

Exp: 3242023

We also dive deep into college & career and PACT finish off the summer with going on a big college trip! This program is amazing for youth who have never had a job before, but that is not a requirement.

We are located on the Near Eastside and as a community center like to hire within our community, but this location is not a requirement. Many of our youth are Black/African American, but that is also not a requirement.

Youth have to be graduating from their freshman year in May to apply. This is a full time summer position. It is paid and we value consistency for our campers so youth need to be available the week of training (6.5-6.9) and all six weeks of camp (6.12-7.21). Typically a PACT's schedule is 7:30am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:30pm with two paid 15 minute breaks and an unpaid 30 minute break. That last week will be the PACT trip and attendance is encouraged but not required.
