Dear Parents,

This week was a momentous one as our student body celebrated our last all school mass for the May crowning. This was especially true for our seniors who processed into mass and some of our seniors crowned Mary. This week we also celebrated another senior - today Austin Sultzer signed to play football with the University of Findley. His family and friends were here to celebrate this big moment.

Junior high students and all biology students have participated in I-Learn testing, and our students in Advanced Placement classes have started their end of year AP exams.

Today our National Honor Society students were assistants for faculty and fellow students as a fundraiser. Money raised will help to provide scholarships to our very own seniors. You could see the NHS members helping set up for our Raider Rev Up, carrying students’ book bags, and helping with other acts of service.

Our Student Council members surprised students with an ice cream treat during their advisor time as they provided another Fun Friday moment. Previous weeks included fun dress up days and notes of encouragement on lockers. I wonder what fun next Friday will bring.

We also celebrated our teachers this week with flowers, a lunch, and some sweet treats. We appreciate how much they do for our students and school.

Tomorrow night our school will host its annual auction which should be lots of fun and will even let our guests get a sneak peek at the new lobby. Check out the information in this newsletter to see how you can participate and help to support our school community. Funds raised help to bridge the gap between the true cost of educating a student and the cost of tuition.

We thank you for sharing your children with us. Continue to pray for our school community.

In Christ’s Peace,
Kari Jost, Principal
Prayer for Students

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround
us with the mysteries of the universe.
Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them
with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

R/. Amen.

Cardinal Ritter High School Blood Drive
Thursday, May 12 2022
8:30AM - 1:30PM

Cardinal Ritter, with the support of Versiti Blood Center of Indiana, is having a blood drive on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Students who are 17 years old or older can sign up to donate blood. Students who are 16 years old, may still donate, but will need to have their parent sign a consent form. Parents, teachers, and staff are also invited to participate. Please consider donating; local hospitals depend on the generosity of donors to provide this life-saving treatment to people in need.

Parental consent forms are available in the school clinic. Please note, all donors must present a photo ID and weigh at least 110 pounds. Student athletes should check with their coach about competitions and practice days before signing up. You may safely donate whole blood every 56 days. You may sign up by following the link above, or in person during lunch the week preceding the blood drive. Students who participate will be able to count this as 1 service hour. If you have additional questions, please contact Laura Valle, our school nurse.
School Choice Voucher Application

We are now scheduling voucher application appointments for May! Please utilize the following link to schedule your appointment with Mariana Sauceda. You will need to bring your 2021 tax return as well as any other income documentation for your household.

Students gathered for the last time this school year to celebrate May Crowning with an all school liturgy. A longstanding Catholic tradition, the May Crowning of Mary honors the Virgin Mary.
Junior Retreat

Last week our Juniors had the opportunity to step away from classes for the day and rediscover the great gift of Divine Mercy. Campus Minister, Ms. Claire Anderson, presented a talk to the students about the image known as the Divine Mercy, based on mystical visions of Polish nun, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska.

Students spent time reflecting on the Biblical account of the conversion of St. Paul, meditating on classic works of Christian Art, and creating their own artworks representing their experiences of God's Mercy. After lunch and a brief break students closed out the day with a holy hour in the chapel with Adoration & Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and experiencing God's mercy through the sacrament of confession.
