Dear Parents,

Next week we will be turning in progress report grades, so be looking for those in your mailboxes soon. Remind your students that their semester grade is the one that stays on their high school transcripts, so they still have time to improve that with four more weeks in the semester before final exams begin. Final exams are worth 20 percent of students’ semester grades. It is never too early to have students looking over material in order to prepare for those exams. Many of our students have never taken such a comprehensive exam. We will be posting our exam schedule soon, and every teacher will have a study table. This schedule will be linked in our newsletter and posted on every Google Classroom page. This will be out within two weeks. As you are planning for the holidays, please be mindful that students cannot take finals early, and taking finals several weeks later can be challenging for students. Students who miss the day before break or after break are unexcused without a doctor’s note. These days are considered mandatory days of attendance as stated in our CRHS handbook.

This past week we have been celebrating Vocations week. Students were encouraged to think about where God might be calling them in their lives right now and in their futures. On Thursday we celebrated Veteran’s Day with liturgy and with a flag presentation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. We also had an honor call of our Ritter alumni and family members who served our country. Then on Friday students listened to a panel of speakers who shared their vocations with our students.

As we near Thanksgiving, we want to thank you for entrusting your children to us and for your support of our Cardinal Ritter community.

In Christ’s Peace,
Kari Jost

Prayer for Students

Lord our God, in your wisdom and love you surround
us with the mysteries of the universe.
Send your Spirit upon these students and fill them
with your wisdom and blessings.
Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies
and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

R/. Amen.
