Bellaire Swimmer Briggs Shiller Wins State Championship
The Bellaire HS swim team, under the coaching of Kris Wingenroth, placed 22nd in the 2019 UIL State Championship Swim meet of over 60 schools.
Congratulations to Briggs Shiller, a senior, who won The TX State Championship in the 500M Freestyle, with a time of 4:22.72.
Briggs was also 10th in the 200M Freestyle with a time of 1:39.15, and the boys 400M Freestyle relay of William He, Alvin Oentoro, Louis Diara and Briggs Shiller placed 22nd.

Boys Basketball Advances to the 2nd Round
Boys Basketball defeated Cy-Fair Tuesday evening with a final score of 65 - 55. Tonight they move on to the 2nd round and take on Morton Ranch. Tip off will be at 7:00pm at Barnett.

Cardinal Kickoff
Wednesday evening we welcomed prospective families onto campus. We began with a program in the auditorium that included an introduction to academics, course selection, and our transition program for students as they enter high school and a basic overview of what a day at BHS is like. After that, families moved into the cafeteria where students had the chance to connect with counselors, teachers, clubs, organizations and sports. Thank you to everyone that attended and contributed to the success of the evening. To access a copy of the informational booklet families received click here. SAT Prep Classes
Want to improve your test scores for the SAT? Ms. Chopra and Mr. Wolf are holding free SAT prep classes after school from 4:10-5:00pm. Mr. Wolf holds classes for the English part of the test on Wednesdays in room 353. Ms. Chopra holds classes for the Math part of the test on Thursdays in room 186. Contact Mr. Wolf, Ms. Chopra, or Ms. Mulet in the library for more details.

Mock ACT and SAT
To help you get an idea of what the ACT and SAT will be like, there will be a free Mock ACT at Bellaire on Saturday, March 23rd, in the cafeteria at 8:00 am. There will also be a free Mock SAT at Bellaire on Saturday, March 30th, in the cafeteria at 8:00 am. Both tests will take place in the cafeteria and check-in will begin at 7:30 am. You should bring your own calculator for the test. You must register at

STAAR Tutorials
Get one step closer to graduating by attending STAAR tutorials. Attending tutorials is an excellent way to get additional help so that you can pass the STAAR test needed for graduation. All STAAR tutorials are currently being held during lunch. Click here for the schedule and location.

The Willbern Heritage Foundation will be visiting during lunch on Thursday, February 28th. This is a local scholarship for students who both go to school and work. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, plan to attend.

Class of 2019 Graduation Date Announced
The Class of 2019's graduation ceremony will be held Saturday, June 8th at 7:00pm. More information will be published closer to the ceremony. Seating is open and we do not distribute tickets to students. There is plenty of room in the stadium for family and friends.
