State Playoff Action Tonight
Bellaire Varsity Football takes on Cy-Fair High School in the first round of the State Playoffs tonight.  Kickoff is at 7:00pm at Ken Pridgeon Stadium. Grab a coat and come out to cheer them on! #CardinalProud
All-State Orchestras
Congrats to the following students for being accepted into the Texas All-State Orchestras:  Joshua Cheng,  Mitsuki Jiang,  James Li,  Alex Xu,  and  Matthew Zhang!

High school students selected to perform in the All-State concerts have competed through several levels of auditions to qualify at the state level. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive. Only the top 3% of musicians who initially audition become All-State musicians.  These All-State students participate in three days of rehearsals directed by nationally-recognized conductors during the TMEA Clinic/Convention. #CardinalProud

Cross Country Competes at State
Ahn Ho and Koket Jimata represented Bellaire at State last weekend. They both set PR's today at the meet. They will compete next at  Nike Regionals.  We are #CardinalProud
This past week Vedanth Ramabhadran, Andrew Sun, and Saumya Jhaveri competed at the 2019 World Scholars Cup Tournament of Champions(ToC). They placed 5th in Debate out of over 2000 teams and amassed over 8 Top 100 individual awards! We are #CardinalProud
Mid Summer Night's Dream Tonight!
Red Bird Productions opened last night! There are two performances left tonight and Saturday.  Tickets are $8 and $5 with a student ID and can be purchased at the door.  The curtain will go up at 6:30pm each evening.
Mock ACT
To help you get an idea of what the ACT is like, there will be a free Mock ACT at Bellaire on Saturday, November 16th in the cafeteria at 8:00 am. Check-in begins at 7:30 am. You should bring your own calculator for the test. You must register here by Thursday, November 14th  for the Mock ACT. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Mulet in the library.

Senior Panoramic Picture

Seniors Please don't forget that financial aid is first come, first serve. Please get your FAFSA/TASFA/CSS Profile submitted to your colleges, as soon as possible to be considered for the most aid. If you need help with TASFA, a financial aid document for non-US citizens for Texas student aid, please plan to visit the College Center on Tuesday. If you need help with the FAFSA, a financial aid document for US citizen applying for federal money, please visit the College Center on Friday.
Sophomores Wednesday, November 20th is the EMERGE Recruitment Informational in the Auditorium during lunch (12:20 PM-1:15 PM). Next Thursday, November 21st, the College Center will be hosting No Pie Til You Apply. This is an event for seniors who have applied to 3 or more colleges to come celebrate their hard work before the Thanksgiving holiday. We will be offering a slice of pie to any senior who has accomplished this great feat.
The last day to request transcripts for January 1st deadlines is Friday, November 22nd.  This is to ensure that students have time to enter their request, and the high school has the appropriate time to send off those documents. With it being a high volume period for the universities and the holiday season, we would rather be early than late.
The last day to register for the December ACT and SAT is Friday, November 22nd.  If you need a fee waiver or help applying, please visit the College Center during lunch. This is the last test until March/February, respectively.

Food Drive For The Houston Food Bank
The Italian National Honor Society and Leo Club are joining forces this Fall to collect cans for the Houston Food Bank.

This is always a very successful food drive and every year the school collaborates in a friendly competition to win our final prize: Tasty Italian Tiramis├╣!

Just like in the past, the teacher who collects the most food will receive a dessert for her/his classes!

The INHS and Leo Club members are distributing the collection boxes right now.

The Food Drive will continue until December 12, 2019.

We are extremely #CardinalProud of our school showing its spirit by caring for others.

School Choice Applications
The New School Choice Magnet and Choice transfer Online Application became available for Parents and Guardians on September 27, 2019 at  

P arents/Guardians are able to submit multiple Magnet and Choice transfer applications on the same computerized system this application process year. School Choice paper applications are available via our School Choice website or by visiting the school of their choice. 

For schools to inform parents and the school community of the School Choice application deadline dates and new changes, the Office of School Choice is requesting that schools announce on their school marquees that Phase I for HISD School Choice Applications will be from September 27, 2019 until December 6, 2019. The last day for HISD students to submit a School Choice Application will be February 28, 2020 for the 2020-2021 school year.

Orchestra Fall Concert
The lights dimmed. The audience quieted. All lights shone on the stage as Laurette Reynosa, the orchestra and piano teacher, crossed to her conductor's platform. She raised her baton, and the musicians prepare themselves for their performance. This was the orchestra's Fall Concert on Oct 23. Read more here.

A Reflection on the Rockets
The Houston Rockets have been my favorite basketball team for as long I can remember. Well, not exactly, because I did not always enjoy watching basketball. I favored the Los Angeles Lakers for several years to spite my brother, a die hard Rockets fan. But ever since, I really began paying attention and following the National Basketball Association, or NBA, the Rockets have been my team. Read more here
