Swimming Wraps Up a Terrific Season
Sacred Heart swimmers competed in the State Championship Meet which was held on November 19-20 in Sulphur, LA. The Cardinals started the meet with eight young swimmers who all achieved personal best times towards the team's success and learned a little something along the way.
Isabelle DeGruy ’24 dropped 6 seconds in 200yd Individual Medley and 1 second in her 100yd Freestyle.
Natalie DeGruy ’27 dropped 2 seconds on her 100yd Freestyle.
Elaine Marie Ehrensing ’24 dropped 2 seconds on her 50yd Freestyle and 5 seconds on her 100yd Freestyle.
Reese LaCaze ’24 dropped 3 seconds on her 200yd Individual Medley and 1 second on her 50yd Freestyle.
Natalia Mehaffie ’25 dropped time on her 50yd Freestyle and 1 second on her 100yd Freestyle.
Claire Parrish ’25 dropped time on her 50yd Freestyle and 3 seconds on her 100yd Freestyle.
Piper Rubin ’25 dropped time on her 50 Backstroke and 100yd Backstroke (in an actual meet).
Elodie Scafidel ’26 Her butterfly was perfectly flawless! She learned how to swim in finals warm-ups like a boss!
Overall, the swim team finished as District Champions and earned a 5th place finish at the State Championships. Congratulations to this young and talented group of swimmers!
