Upper School

Congratulations

Leah Varisco '26 earned her ALL-STATE HONORS TOP 25 TIMES at the 2022 Cross Country State Meet. Her 3rd place time 19:05 in Div. II was the 19th fastest out of 697 runners in ALL 5 Divisions on that day!!!

Basketball 

The varsity basketball team closed out the first half of the season with a win over the Willow School with a final score of 50-28. The Cardinals got off to a slow start in the contest allowing Willow to take an early 10-13 lead after the first quarter. In the second half the Cardinals turned it around with back to back steals by Leah Varisco ’26 to put the Cardinals out front 29-22 in the 3rd. The team really pulled away in the 4th quarter. Libby Fitzpatrick ’26 scored 8 4th quarter points to help push the lead, finishing the contest with 10 points. Leah Varisco ’26 led all scorers with 21 points and 5 steals. Sophie Lo ’26 chipped in 6 points while Cami Davis ’23 turned in 6 points and 4 rebounds. The team will be back in action on Wednesday and Thursday against AOL and Houma Christian.

Soccer 

The soccer team had an abbreviated week because of exams. The JV and Varsity each only played one game against St. Scholastica Academy.

SSA is one of the top teams in Division I and the Varsity Cardinal team put up a valiant effort in a 3-0 loss. They battled hard but the team just couldn’t muster up enough plays to get a win. 

The JV then took the field and got out to an early lead on a great goal by Lucy Mason ’26. However, SSA battled back quickly and scored 2 goals before halftime. The Final score was SSA 3, Cardinals 1. The Cardinals will look to get back in action this week against a very formidable opponent in ED White followed by taking on district opponent Morris Jeff.
