Care Camps Board of Directors Visit

Camp Boggy Creek

Care Camps held its first Board of Directors meeting for 2024, Feb. 13-15, in Lake Buena Vista, FL, with our new slate of officers.

A highlight of the meeting was visiting Camp Boggy Creek, in Eustis, FL, where Board members were able to experience one of the 122 pediatric oncology camps funded by Care Camps.

Thank you to Dan Jurman, Camp Boggy Creek CEO, and team for giving us a spectacular tour and inspiration. And thank you to our extraordinary Board of Directors who provide the strategic guidance to help us fulfill our mission.

Our Impact

A Year in Review

Through our partnership with the Children's Oncology Camping Association, and your generous donations, Care Camps awarded $2M of grant funding in 2023 to 122 pediatric oncology camps in the US and Canada.

Our collective impact touched over 38,000 special lives this past year, including:

· 12,000+ children living with cancer,

· 6,000+ parents,

· 8,500+ siblings, and

· 12,000+ volunteers

Many of the children come back to their respective camps year after year to reconnect with their community of friends and support. And they return as counselors, and as volunteers as they become adults. This impact creates infinite priceless memories and connections for millions!

Partner Spotlight

Howard Livingston and the Mile Marker 24 Band

Howard Livingston lives the island life, writing and singing songs about the beautiful simplicity of island living. And with every note, he and his MM24 Band continue to FUN(D)-RAISE for Care Camps through shows at the Sugarloaf Keys KOA Resort, Venture Out at Cudjoe Cay, and more!

Howard’s legendary ‘1952 Johnson outboard motor turned margarita maker’ brought in over $6K during a recent fundraising event at the Sugarloaf Key KOA, where Gwynn Sullivan, Care Camps Foundation Executive Director, and Wendy Woodman, Sugarloaf Key KOA General Manager, attended.

This past year, Howard and the MM24 band, along with his wife, Cyndy, were responsible for donating over $50K to Care Camps from their benefit shows.
