Meet the Staff Summer Series

Margi Bradley

Mission Central has a small but mighty staff of six full-time employees. This week, we sat down with Margi to learn about her role, hobbies, and what brought her to Mission Central!

Maggie: What is your role at MC?

Margi: My main role is being the Receptionist.

Maggie: How long have you been working at MC?

Margi: I have been with Mission Central for 11 years now.

Maggie: Can you summarize your role and responsibilities?

Margi: To summarize my role, I wear many hats here at Mission Central. Being the first point of contact I try to give everyone the best customer service I can provide. Along with answering phone calls, I also head up the Medical Program which is a huge part of my many phone calls that I receive. We disperse so many medical items from our facility for all in need.

Maggie: Why Mission Central?

Margi: I did not choose Mission Central. I believe it chose me when I was in need of a job 11 years ago and it has been the most rewarding job I have had.

Maggie: What are your hobbies and interests?

Margi: I am an outdoor person and love going for walks, riding my new electric bike and gardening so basically anything outdoors.

Maggie: Favorite place to eat in Cumberland County or surrounding counties?

Margi: Don't have a favorite place to eat but I would say anywhere that they serve fresh seafood is my choice.

Maggie: We are returning to our in-person Annual Gala in November. What are you most looking forward to?

Margi: As far as the Gala I have attended a few in my years here and it's always great to get dressed up and have a good meal and see so many people who support our mission.

We distributed 4,800 Care Kits (right) to our partner, Springs of Joy, who provides resources and aid to communities in Sierra Leone, Africa. These Care Kits will go in their next shipment to Sierra Leone in September 2024!

In June, we received a donation of 500 brand-new office chairs from a furniture manufacturer. We reached out to our partners to find the need and coordinated distributions of chairs to 25 partners!! Our partner, Communities in Schools of PA, used their chairs to upgrade the Ferguson Community Think Tank at Ferguson K-8 in The School District of the City of York. Check out this awesome space (left) that will be used by students, families and staff!

It is wonderful to see volunteers become friends. Our Wednesday morning volunteer group and our Volunteer Coordinator enjoyed cake in the breakroom (right)!

Activity Kit Drive and Resources

It's that time of year again when we receive an abundance of resource requests for backpacks and school supplies. To provide these resources to as many children as possible, we need your help!

Just like our Care Kit Drive during May and June, we are running an Activity Kit Drive for July - September. You can participate by purchasing and donating Activity Kit supplies, hosting an Activity Kit drive, and purchasing supplies to assemble Activity Kits from home.

We have provided all the resources you need to get started below, including a graphic to share on your socials!
