REC Leaders Adopt a Highway

REC Volunteers Adopt Highway in Louisa

Leaders from across REC came together to pick up trash along a 3.6-mile stretch of Fredericks Hall Road in Louisa County. REC has officially adopted this stretch of highway as a way to give back to one of our communities. The effort was coordinated with LouisaClean.

In total:

  • 40 volunteers
  • 70 bags of trash
  • 80 hours worked

In addition to hundreds of bottles, cans and food wrappers, REC’s cleanup crew also collected a mattress, multiple chairs and even a tire.

"I can't tell you how excited I am that you adopted this highway," said Jody Korman, LouisaClean Treasurer. "The biggest Adopt-a-Highway program we have is Rappahannock Electric and it's helping us with our mission to get as many of the roads in Louisa County adopted."
