Proactive Patient Education is Critical
Declining patient volumes will likely remain a challenge in the upcoming months; healthcare consumer surveys
have revealed patients fear seeking care isn’t safe, even as pandemic restrictions are lifted. However, the data also shows that physicians are highly trusted sources of safety information.
Now is the time to nurture your relationships with your patients to put them at ease so they can get the care they need.

Resumption of Cancer Clinical Trials at the Tisch Cancer Institute
During the height of the pandemic, many of Mount Sinai’s cancer clinical trials were closed to patient accrual in order to focus on COVID-19 treatment protocols and to protect cancer patients from risk exposure. We are now resuming enrollment on cancer clinical trials that are the most critical for our patients, and have been approved for re-opening by the IRB. Additional trials will continue to open on an ongoing basis, based on risk/benefit review.
If you have questions about
availability of clinical trials for cancer patients
, please contact
Lisa Gaynes
, Executive Director of Clinical Research Administration, or
Dr. Karyn Goodman
, Associate Director of Clinical Research.
