CareKinesis Rebate Program
Many PACE organizations have found prescription drug manufacturers' rebate programs difficult to administer and some have faced challenges in providing documentation requested by CMS during the Part D Financial Audit. Until recently, rebate amounts for CareKinesis clients were not material due to the high generic utilization. Consequently, CareKinesis historically has never offered nor engaged in rebate programs. However, the continued increased use of specialty items at ever-rising annual increases may be swinging the pendulum. While rebates do not directly reduce costs for PACE organizations, rebates reduce the cost of the Part D benefit, which aligns with the goal of Part D programs to decrease medication costs.

Through CareVention HealthCare and a change in structure that enables us to access manufacturer rebates, CareKinesis is pleased to now offer rebate services to our PACE clients. We will provide management and compliance functions of the rebate program on our clients’ behalf and assure transparency in the process. Rebates will be collected on the medications dispensed directly by CareKinesis pharmacy. A management fee will be collected at the time of rebate distribution for program administration, which includes assistance in estimating rebates for your Part D bid submission and supporting compliance requirements. There will be no per-claim charges or fees. Rebates will be reported to your organization annually as DIR in a format that meets Medicare Part D requirements.
Please contact Brian W. Adams, CFO, TRHC , if you are interested in participating in the program or have any questions.
