The Office of the Governor of North Carolina is seeking interns for the upcoming summer.

 

Location: Raleigh, NC 

Position: Internship (Unpaid) 

Dates: Summer 2025 (Dates Flexible) 

 

The Office of the Governor of North Carolina is seeking motivated and enthusiastic interns to support with a variety of tasks across the following departments:  


· Intergovernmental & Outreach 

· Boards & Commissions 

· Volunteer NC 

· Communications 

· Digital 

· Constituent Engagement 


Intern responsibilities vary by department, but may include: 

· Conducting research 

· Compiling social media metrics 

· Drafting social media content including graphic, design, video and/or photos 

· Drafting thank you notes, press releases, invitation and certificates for review. 

· Compiling press clips for distribution. 

· Sorting and responding to constituent mail. 


Applicants should have the following qualifications: 

· Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course of study. 

· Strong interest in government, public service, and civic engagement. 

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

· Detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects. 

· Proficiency with Microsoft suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint). 

· Discretion when handing confidential or sensitive materials.

Reynolda Museum Winston-Salem


Internships

Are you an undergraduate student interested in exploring the potential career paths working in a museum could offer? The Teaching and Learning Department offers fall and spring semester internships, as well as summer term academic internships that will provide a general introduction to museum careers with a focus on education, programming, or cultural resource management. 


Interns will assist with the daily operation of the education and program departments, specifically helping with school field trips and Museum programs. In addition to completing required readings and accompanying tours of the Museum, all interns will undertake an independent research project that’s tailored to the student’s skills and professional goals.


Application deadlines: 

Spring semester: November 15

Summer semester: March 15

For Fall semester: July 15

How to apply

Students interested in applying for an internship should carefully review the requirements for each internship in the downloadable form below. Students should follow the application instructions that pertain to the department to which they are applying. Students may apply to more than one department with one application. 


All applicants should submit the following:


  • Internship Application Form
  • A written statement, including any prior museum experience (not required) and what you hope to accomplish in terms of your career goals from a Reynolda internship.
  • A resume or curriculum vitae, including previous experience as well as skills (foreign languages, technology, etc.) and relevant extracurricular activities.
  • Any other materials requested by the internship program.


A letter of recommendation from your faculty advisor is required. The letter can be sent separately from the application via email. The application is not considered complete until this letter is received.

The Winston-Salem Police Department is hosting a Community Day in April, and we’d love for students interested in law enforcement to attend. This will be a relaxed, interactive event where attendees can learn more about WSPD, explore career opportunities, and connect with officers. Best of all, it's free! We’ll also have a couple of food trucks on-site for lunch.
