Alumni Career Expo

Friday, April 4, is the on-campus Gibbons Alumni Career Expo. Alumni interested in participating are invited to interact with students and share insight on college majors and how to launch a career. Register by March 21.

House Crests Revealed

In 2023 Gibbons launched a House System, combining equal numbers of students from all four grades into four houses. Within the houses, students come together on a regular basis to foster relationships, grow in their faith, and enjoy fun and fellowship. The houses are named for the three religious orders that served our school and The St. Monica School (1930 - 1967), an African-American Catholic elementary started by Bishop Hafey. The official crests for our school’s house system were unveiled during Catholic Schools Week. Each crest represents the unique spirit and values of its house. Learn more about the symbolism.

Taylor Blanton Celebrates 15 years

Educator Taylor Blanton was honored for 15 years of dedicated service during Catholic Schools Week Stewardship Mass. A passionate and committed mentor, Blanton excels in the classroom and enriches students’ experiences beyond it.

He leads the annual Western Europe trip, offering students a global perspective, and serves as an assistant coach for the swimming & diving and cross country teams.

Winter Sports Teams bring home Championships

The Men’s Wrestling team clinched its first NCHSAA 4A dual team state championship with a 39-31 victory over Hickory Ridge. The Crusaders sealed the title with crucial wins in the final matches, marking a historic milestone for the program.

Both the Varsity and JV Cheerleading teams earned first place at the North Carolina Cheerleading Coaches Association State Championships.

The Men’s Swim team won their first NCHSAA 4A state championship, finishing ahead of Green Hope and Myers Park. This is their first swimming state title since 2013, when they won in 3A. This victory marks the program’s first 4A championship and seventh overall across 2A, 3A, and 4A classifications.

Campus Crawl

Thursday, February 27, Gibbons invites alumni back to campus for a fun night with classmates and favorite educators at Campus Crawl! This event features a beer and wine bar, appetizers, and great music. As you “crawl” through the hallways of our alma mater and spend time with some familiar faces, you’ll learn more about how you can impact the future of Gibbons. RSVP now.

50th Anniversary of Baseball

Save the date! Saturday, April 5, Gibbons will be hosting a celebration of 50 Years of Baseball. This is for all alumni and current families as we take a look back at 50 years on the field and forward to more home runs. Join us for lunch, a special program, and a home game. Registration is open.

70s Decade Gathering

Join classmates on Saturday, May 3, for a great evening under the rafters of the Father Price Gymnasium, relocated from the Western Blvd. campus. This iconic structure was home to basketball games, talent shows, dances, and all-school Mass. Now, it is the venue for great alumni gatherings. $20 covers food and beer/wine bar.
