Career Day at HJSHS

On March 6, 2023 the Hardeeville Jr. & Sr. High School Counseling Department hosted its annual career fair. Students, 6-12 graders, were encouraged to visit and speak with the organizations represented. The students attending the career fair were free to ask any questions they wished to prospective employers and take notes and help themselves to any promotional material or freebies that were offered. Our scholars will surely benefit from this experience as they move toward graduation.

Ace Skills USA

Several Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence (BJACE) Students competed to earn a medal in the Skills USA in Greenville, SC. We are very proud of every BJACE student that prepared and bravely competed. 

We extend congratulations to Juan Francisco Morales, HJSHS, for earning a Gold Medal in Barbering and Destiny Bolden, RSAE, for earning a Silver Medal in Hair Braiding Fantasy. 

We are proud of our scholars for putting their best foot forward and embracing the learning of new skill sets.

Coastal Carolina Hospital Visit

A group of Hardeeville Jr & Sr High School students visited the Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville on Thursday, March 15th. Students were able to simulate performing surgery using the Da Vinci robot and toured the blood lab and the imaging center. The hurricanes met various hospital employees who were happy to share information about the various careers within health care. 

DARE Program

Our DARE program is currently heading into week 3 of the 10-week program at Ridgeland Elementary School. Our DARE instructors are Staff Sergeant Sons and Sgt. Ashby of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, currently School Resource Officers. They look forward to the coming weeks of teaching the 5th-grade students about the dangers of drugs and what to do if they encounter them in the real world. D.A.R.E. Stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education.
