When you are young, you believe that you can lift up anything however you choose, without stretching and you will be just fine. While you may get away with this for a while, eventually it will catch up with you.
Some areas of importance for stretching include thighs, hips, chest, shoulders, and back. When lifting you should always make sure to keep a wide base, bend at the knees, keep your head straight, slowly lift while keeping your back straight and avoid twisting.
