A world-class learning center, we have trained thousands of successful greenskeepers in the art and science of managing golf courses, sports fields, and other highly-maintained properties. Our alumni lead the industry around the world and we hope to help you build your career in the same way. 

Our professional development certificate is an efficient and affordable way to gain in-depth knowledge and skills in turfgrass science and management. Students attend two 10-week sessions with a full season work experience internship in-between.

To give you a well-rounded education and help grow your career, the Rutgers team of turf instructors includes both distinguished faculty and acclaimed industry professionals.

The entire program is specifically designed to teach you what you need to succeed in the greens industry. 
Fall 2021 Session Details:
September 30 to December 17, 2021
Online (Note that the second 10-week session will be in-person)
Monday through Friday from 11am to 5pm EST
$5,195 per session

Winter 2022 Session Details:
January 5 to March 18, 2022
On campus in New Brunswick, NJ (Regulations permitting)
Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm EST
$5,195 per session
Application Process
Whichever session you would like to attend, even if you are unsure, the first step is to apply. You must have at least two seasons of experience working in turfgrass management to be considered. Then:

  1. Complete the application form 
  2. Pay a $50 application fee
  3. Submit one (1) letter of intent
  4. Submit a current resume or CV
  5. Submit two (2) letters of recommendation
  6. Submit your school transcript(s)
