National Foster
Care Month

May is recognized as National Foster Care Month. We use this month to acknowledge and thank all of the wonderful caregivers who support our community's children and families.
Clark County Human Services Administrator Tim Burch recorded this message for all of our caregivers.

At some point in the month of May, you will likely be receiving a phone call from a DFS employee asking you to participate in a quick 2-3 minute survey. The goal of the survey is to strengthen the way DFS and caregivers work together. We look forward to your input!

Children's Service Guild
The Children's Service Guild, founded on June 6, 1969, is celebrating its 50th birthday this year! This organization of volunteers dedicates itself to helping the children who interact with the Family and Juvenile Justice Court systems. To learn more about the organization, click

Back to School with CASA: SAVE THE DATE
|
The back to school party with CASA and Square Salon will be on Sunday, August 4 at Square Color Salon & Spa. You will be able to choose to attend one of three sessions on that day.
Save the date now and check back next month for RSVP information.
Please note: this is the ONLY back to school event this year. If you are unable to attend the CASA event, you will be able to pick up a backpack and supplies at Peggy's Attic after the event. More details to come.

Quality Parenting Standards for Foster Homes:Licensing

As a current caregiver, you have gone through the licensing process and continue to go through the renewal process.
However, you probably continue to have questions such as: the requirements that need to be met to be licensed, what happens if you move while you are licensed, requirements around having a pool and more.

The greatest tool to recruit new foster parents...are current foster parents.

Foster Care Information Sessions!
There is always a need for more foster families in Clark County. The first step is to attend one of the many information sessions offered all across Clark County.
If you know someone who has been thinking of becoming a foster resource, click on the picture to see the full schedule of information sessions and help them take that first step.

Caring for a child is one of the most important things a person can do. Caring for a child who is not your own requires a special kind of dedication. There are many children in Southern Nevada who are unable to remain in their homes. Families who open their homes and hearts to these children are committed to improving their lives and their futures. Foster Change is committed to those families.
We are proud to be the foster and adoptive family association in Southern Nevada. For just $20/year, we offer monthly community connection groups, parents' nights out, family events, educational opportunities, play dates, and free car seat and CPR/first aid training. Many of our events include free childcare and meals. We also work together to advocate for support for all foster and adoptive families in Nevada. We look forward to meeting your family!
