Individual Dementia Caregiver Consultations Available
Do you find yourself blocked and frustrated because you don't know what to do and how to do it when it comes to relating and communicating. Do you wonder why what you both want is not happening?

Learn to anticipate the struggles and how to be better prepared. Recognize your loved one's point of view, understand where they are coming from, comprehend the grieving of loss that comes with dementia, and develop a better understanding of what is possible and what is not.
Jill Costello is a Certified Dementia Consultant under Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care and is available for individual caregiver consultations at no financial cost to you.
Educational content provided by Positive Approach® is used with permission and based on the GEMS® and the techniques, strategies, and overall approach to care created and developed by Positive Approach, LLC.
What is Project Sherpa?
Have you ever left a doctor's appointment with more concerns or questions than before you went in?
Perhaps you felt rushed or were embarrassed, even hesitant to ask for more details?
Would you find it helpful if a doctor accompanied you and/or your care recipient to their next medical appointment to be an advocate on your behalf?
Project Sherpa's retired medical professional volunteers do just that at no charge! Your Sherpa will help ask questions and gather all the facts so that, together, you can make the best medical decisions for you, or your loved one's care.

Project Sherpa is a complimentary service of the Edel Caregiver Institute.
Restorative Yoga and Deep Relaxation via ZOOM
Caregiver Stress Relief: Schedule some relaxation time just for you!
To participate with our on-line ZOOM class: CLICK HERE TO REGISTER. The ZOOM link will be emailed the Wednesday evening prior to Thursday morning’s class.

Due to ongoing covid restrictions, restorative yoga will resume meeting on line via ZOOM for the time being. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Join us for a yoga session focused on relaxation and quieting the mind. This is not a stretching class, instead props such as bolsters and blankets are used to support the body. This allows the breath to move freely, encouraging the muscles to relax, and the mind to quiet. Within a short time, this practice encourages you to become submerged in a deeply relaxed state and drop into the silent space within. No previous experience is necessary. Dress comfortably for movement.
Exhausted caregivers with a loved one under Hospice Savannah's care are eligible for up to five days of respite each month. Respite care is available for your loved one in our beautifully renovated Inpatient Unit on Eisenhower Drive where they will receive personalized care from our onsite clinical staff.
Ask your Hospice Savannah nurse or social worker for more information on how to take advantage of this service.
