HOW CAN I HELP?
"I
n Touch" Effort
The Caring Committee is trying to stay in contact with 40 of our most vulnerable members, to support and love them and be aware of needs for food, transportation or health care during this period of space between us.
If you can make regular phone calls, emails, card mailing and/or food drop-offs, please
email
Patti Hanks.
Homeless Outreach
Friday Night Picnic is continuing in a new format with the objective of keeping guests and volunteers safe. Last Friday, we heard from guests how grateful they were because other churches had ceased serving meals.
We're operating with no more than 10 volunteers on site, all food is pre-packaged, we assemble grab-n-go bags and supply leftovers to Celebration Outreach's Saturday breakfast and Sunday dinner.
Local Food Banks
Consider donations to food banks which are struggling with high demand and short supply of food and personal hygiene items.

Our Refugee Families
Karen Coale, co-chair of our Social Justice team, is in touch & reports that both families are doing fine.

UUSP Phone Tree
Volunteers needed! We're putting together a way to quickly reach everyone in our congregation by phone, just in case. We need 20 people willing to be "on call" to make 8-10 brief calls anytime the Board activates the phone tree. If you can help,
email
Susan Burnore or phone 770.480.0200.

HOW CAN I STAY CONNECTED?
Meet virtually:
Covenant groups, teams, discussion groups and folks who just want to virtually share a beer are already starting to video conference using
Google HangOuts
or
Zoom
. You can also participate, audio only, from a phone.
Users of both report that Zoom has more robust functionality. You can host a HangOut session in our new UUSP Google Suite -
contact
Morgan
for a host account.
To set up a HangOut, use Google Calendar to schedule a session, send invites which include meeting links and, at the appointed time, host the session.
Join Citizens Cafe
at n
oon on Thursdays for a lively conversation about the public issues of our times. Jack will host our first online session March 26th, click

SEND YOUR SUGGESTIONS
From what we're
reading
, our church may be shuttered for many weeks. We're looking for ways to stay safe yet connected.
Technology is our friend but we're also looking for other ways to care and connect.
This publication and its frequency will be driven by the content YOU provide, so
send your suggestions for "how I can help" and "how I can stay connected"
to
Sharon

HOW ARE
...
the Motters?
John writes
... we're fine but Bill's in isolation in the garage apartment. Between trips to NYC, passing thru Atlanta airport with their positive-tested TSA agents and phlegm (likely from allergies), he's keeping his distance. I've been cooking; Mom [Ruth] and I get our food and sit at the courtyard table then Bill gets his food, using protection to not directly touch utensils, and eats 6 feet away. It's a strange way to go but we are adjusting. Warm thoughts and energy being sent that you all stay safe and healthy.

To practice courage, compassion and connection is to look at life and the people around us, and say, "I'm all in."
