Caring For All Members
Of Our Community At This Time
Dear Friends in Christ Our Hope,
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is on the top of everybody's mind. As Christ's disciples, we're called to care for all members of our community, especially the elderly, the weak and the vulnerable. The Seattle Archdiocese has asked parish communities to implement the following temporary health guidelines to keep us all safe as we continue to share in communion and community. Prayer is the greatest grace in times like these. Gathering together for communal prayer is the greatest grace of all. Let us pray for all those impacted by this virus, here and around the world, and take prudent steps to lessen the spread of the virus.

  • If you are sick or feel you are getting sick, please stay at home and do not attend Mass
    • Missing Mass due to illness is not sinful; it is prudent and shows care for your sisters and brothers
  • Avoid handshaking, bow your greeting instead
  • During Mass, at the Sign of Peace, simply say, "Peace be with you," instead of offering your hand
  • During Communion, the Eucharist will only be offered in your hand, rather than on your tongue
  • There will be no Precious Blood offered from the chalice to the community at this time
  • The holy water font has been drained, so simply bless yourself with the sign of the cross as you enter and exit the Church
